Why Organic?
At Ninth St. Bakery we have been baking quality, hearty breads since
we fired our first oven in 1981. We have always used the finest
ingredients, including organically grown flours from historic Lindley's
Mill - started by the Lindley family around the time of the
Revolutionary War!
Stoneground, organic flour makes our bread flavorful and good for
you. You can eat our bread knowing it is free from harmful
pesticides, chemical fertilizers, bleaches and bromates.
We co-operate with nature in gathering all our ingredients, including
unrefined sea-salt, honey and molasses, combining them to make a very
healthy and delicious loaf. The water we use is charcoal- filtered
to ensure that fluoride and other contaminants found in city water are
removed.

We also handle the dough differently than a large commercial
bakery. Our dough rises more slowly and gently. This leaves
vitamins and nutrients whole and imparts a fuller less yeasty flavor to
the bread.
When you break this bread, feel assured that you are taking good care
of your family and yourself. Also by supporting organic
agriculture you are helping preserve the environment for us all. |
